Project "A Place"

So I am beginning Project "A Place".  This is basically inspired by the saying "a place for everything, and everything in its place."
I really would like to get our house into working order.  I want to stop spending time looking for things I could otherwise have designated a place for and found on the spot.
We are starting with one big change.  We are currently in the process of changing our office into a playroom for Lincoln.  Not only will this consolidate a lot of extra things into one space, it's a great spot for the playroom because it's just off the kitchen.
I can put Lincoln in the playroom with baby gates up and be able to cook dinner while keeping an eye on him.
This undertaking, however, involves packing up multiple bookshelves and finding a new home (be it ours or someone else's!) for our gargantuan desk.
I'm hoping we can knock out a good chunk of the task tomorrow.  Darion has a day off, so it'd be nice not to get swallowed by a project and not be able to finish it.  I want to invest in some organizational tools (bins and shelves) to hide away the clutter at a moment's notice.  It'd be nice to be able to neatly store all of Lincoln's toys in such a manner that it isn't an eye sore.
We have already been discussing some things to pass along to someone else from our spare room to make some extra storage space for our books and things with which we can't yet part.
I will certainly be posting some before, during, and after photos!

  1. Lucky! I would love to have a playroom off the kitchen for C. Maybe in the next house.. =) Good luck with your room switch-over.

  2. Yay I love this idea! As you know, I just ruthlessly decluttered our entire house. I have already been on a mission this past year to minimize any new clutter coming in. It is getting easier and easier to keep our house looking clean and truly well organized. You go girl!
